Shortly after, she took over for Matthew Quattrochiocchi and The Foot Company in Owen Sound and Port Elgin. In 2015 Laura began seeing patients in Meaford also. Laura enjoys working in the multidisciplinary setting where she finds it most beneficial to her patient’s well being and her own continued education. She is especially interested in injury rehabilitation and degenerative disease cases. Laura is licensed through the College of Pedorthics (Canada) and registered to the Pedorthic Association of Canada in good standing. She believes that our feet are our foundation. Canadian Certified Pedorthists are trained in lower limb anatomy and biomechanics as well as manufacturing and dispensing of custom made orthotics and footwear design and modifications. Compared to some other health care professionals that dispense custom made foot orthotics, C.Ped (C)s are the only ones to specialize specifically in this area. During an assessment the pedorthist will look at your foot and ankle range of motion, your alignment and watch you walk. After explaining a proper treatment plan and if orthotics can be beneficial to you, a 3-dimensional mold of your feet will be taken. A pick up appointment is then made for 2 weeks where the orthotics are fit to your shoes and adjusted to make them comfortable.
Please visit here for a list of common conditions that pedorthists can help with or here to see what to expect during your visit. Many extended health care plans will cover a portion of custom made orthotics with a written referral from your family physician. If you are a related health care professional and would like more information, Laura would be please to meet with you to introduce her services and how they would be beneficial to your patients. |
